Testing Threads…
Here’s a test of that idea… This is the first TEST entry in creating a threaded status. To expand on any idea or news event as they happen, you can now create threads in your status to keep them up to date. This allows you to use streams as pages for updating a news/story event, or gradually documenting an idea or goal over time.
almost done
The Thread feature is almost done! It was quite a mind-bending thing to build, but the backend interface and frontend are basically stable and MD is better off from the bug fixes made in the process. The only big issue is the dates of each threaded item is very wrong. On the minor side, it would be nice to add an indicator to the stream archives page that an item is a thread.

first update
Here’s what the Thread interface looks like from the post screen. To add a thread to your status, just peek below the post editor to start adding new thread items. All you have to do is type a quick message to keep the thread updated!
MD4.8.4 changelog
By the way, The Stream will be available in the upcoming MD4.8.4 release. I’m shooting to have it out by Monday, and here’s a full list of the changes slated to make it in this version:
drag and drop
Pro tip: You can reorder each thread item by simply dragging and dropping it to the place you want in the list. Easy!
Dates
Wow. Getting the right dates to show on each thread item was really confusing, but I’m fairly happy with the solution.
Launched
And after all of that, I am glad to tell you that The Stream is finally ready. Thanks for following:
