Users registering with Google etc

I know this is probably not something that you thought of as a priority but it's still an issue.

If you have your forum set up to accept registrations from users with a Google, Battle,Net etc account and they register that way via the forums, the XFtoXP Xenforo registration plugin can't register the user on the WP side. It will kick back a "WP: did not receive raw password" error".

Just thought you should know in case someone hasn't tested this.

To be clear, this is when using the WP User Register XF addon?

I've been testing a workaround that generates a random password on the WP side in order to continue registration, but will require a password reset from the user. Far from ideal, but the full registration process will work.

Sounds like a plan. Just hope it's not too confusing for users on my mental setup with all the workarounds I have done

Did you get any further with this? We have stuff like Steam, Twitch and Discord active as an option but sadly these guys are not getting added on the WP side. Wondering if there is a solution for this as yer?

I've made a fix to the XF addon so that a new WP user will register, but will have a randomized password. I will push it out to the resource shortly.

From here you can have these users either reset their password, or enable the "Sync user when XF credentials are used at login" option in the User syncing settings.

This will check the login details at WP login and if it matches an XF user, it will log them in and reset the WP user to their XF password.
