Preferred Books Drop-In Image Dimensions

What would be the best image dimensions to use for the books drop-in? For what is worth, I'd like to have some consistency by matching up the size/dimensions of all of the images. I think it will look better this way. Here's what the few I have added thus far look like:

Good question and yes, the bookshelf will look best with consistently sized images, preferably book size.

I recommend close to 300x500.

Thanks for clarifying! I'll use it for books in one part of my site, but I'll also be using it for something completely different in another area. I'll share what I'm doing when it is ready to go.
