How to get Docs drop-in to honor "sticky" mode for posts?

I'm using Docs as a Resource Directory for types of businesses. The custom post type itself allows you to flag it as sticky but the setting is not being honored in the list of posts in the boxes and on the category pages.

I am using stickies to feature certain businesses/resources and it worked in other themes.

How can I tweak it to honor stickies?

P.S. Found a plugin that will force the custom post type sticky to be honored in the archive views (i.e. https://marketersdelight.com/docs/installation-and-upgrades/) and it works!

But it doesn't work on the front page of docs (i.e. https://marketersdelight.com/docs/) but I'm guessing this is because you programmed your own query loop, etc. Any suggestions on how I can tweak this?

Unfortunately WordPress doesn't support sticky posts on post types other than the default Posts. We added partial support for post types back in MD5.2 which gives you the admin settings on post types to set any entry as sticky, but we still have to edit drop-ins like Docs to support that on the frontend.

I will move this to Feature requests for now and will revisit this shortly as this has come up on one of our client sites as well, so there is definitely interest to make this happen.

Definitely of interest on my end -- it would allow us to showcase "featured" listings.
