Comments stored in WP comments

As I understand it all comments are stored on Xenforo. Should comments not also be inserted into the WP comments table when posted from Xen or from WP side? I know this may require an addon on the Xen side but it would be a safety net for anyone who decided to unhook from Xenforo at any point and not have their comments lost. Perhaps it could be integrated with the Xenforo login addon?

With that in mind, can you comment directly on the WP post as yet instead of being taken to the Xenforo thread? I feel this is really important.

All messages from the first page of the connected thread are stored I'm the XFWP key in the postmeta. That is the data used to render the frontend template and exists even if the api connection is disrupted.

In this simple implementation storing comments outside of postmeta was an overkill. But the next major development focus after 1.5 goes stable (so.. close!) is cross-commenting, and in many cases copies of comments/replies will be stored to both sites.
