Do I Need Third Party Email Marketing Service To Use Sign Up Form Widget?

This theme, market delight is damn awesome one. I do have an important question before I land to Kolakube.
I have seen a nice, simple and easy-on-eyes email signup form widget on MD2 demo. Do I need to use third party email marketing services such like aweber, mailchimp and so on to operate that widget? (OR) Does MD2 email signup form widget run without those services? (Popular plugin such "Contact Form 7" can run smoothly on wordpress backbone with no need of email marketing services.) Very looking forward to your helpful reply. Many thanks!
