Hi guys,

OK. A few questions. I'm sure they are fairly easy for you guys to figure out but anyways..

Is it possible to change the colour of the background to the main menu? I'm not talking about the one that is at the very top (I believe this is the nav menu) but the one that is just above the feature box.

Also, when we talk about that... are there any simple ways of customizing them? I'm thinking maybe having some sort of divider inbetween them and have them with a different colour and font in comparison to the other nav menu (because I know you can change the fonts but can you change the font of the main menu separately, without affecting the other menu?)

Can I change the colour of the feature box? It looks like there is a dark colour to the md2 theme, how can I change that to the colour of my choice?

Then, lastly..my biggest question.. Is it possible to create a dynamic sidebar? To change the sidebar depending on what article you are on? For example, If I rank a keyword for the term "dog training", I want my nav menu to show posts that I either choose myself or that is from the category of dogs. Then, If someone finds my site by the keyword "teach my cat to sit" (why would anyone search for that? lol), I want the side bar to show posts that are related to cats instead.

Looking forward to hear from you all.

Regards,
allexx

Hey, Allexx. Thanks for your interest! I believe you're interested in MD2, correct? If so...

It is definitely possible to change the color of the main menu (the one in the header is called the header menu). MD2 actually comes with 6 different built in color options for the menu. And even if those don't fit well, there's nothing a little CSS can't do.

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking here but based on the words "divider," "color," and "font," CSS can handle all of that too. :)

CSS takes the cake once again! There's actually a built in option, much like the menu, that can change the background of the feature box red with a black ribbon... instead of black with a red ribbon. But if neither of those are desirable, CSS saves the day.

Yes! However, it's not an MD2 matter. Any Thesis site is capable of producing this kind of effect with a little PHP or a plugin. I usually write my own PHP for this effect but you can also use a plugin called "Display Widgets."

That plugin appends extra control settings to each individual widget, allowing you to design which pages/posts to show it on. It works like a charm. If you look at the very top left sidebar of my personal website, you will notice an "about me" style widget on the homepage, but when you click into a post, it will go away to be replaced by a widget with an optin form. I used Display Widgets for that. :)
I no longer work for Kolakube! Alex is still my buddy and all is good in the hood. But I no longer provide support in these forums. Please don't private message me for help or contact me on Skype for help. Thanks. :)
