What's up, Alex?

Hopefully I am not missing something obvious. I know you like to use Javascript here and there. The previews on the portfolio page http://sdaviscreations.com/portfolio are they intended to be dark with the "view" link on them by default? I was expecting the fade effect like you have here: http://demo.kolakube.com/kolfolio/

Am I missing something or is that actually not part of the downloaded version?

Thanks, broseph.

Actually, as of now, my Gallery Teaser Image and Teaser Description keeps erasing itself after 10 minutes or so on my "Photoshop Graphics" teaser on the Portfolio page. I'm not sure why that's happening. The fields are blank, even though they were successfully saved before. It's happened twice now.

Any clue?

It doesn't look like you have jQuery library enabled... enable that in Design Options. Should clear the fading boxes up.

Really? Never seen that when testing the skin. Before you save, be sure to check out the meta boxes to see the content is still there. Will look into this...

Yea I don't know what the issue is, man. It saves just fine. It'll stay for 10, 20, 30 minutes and then just disappear out of nowhere. It doesn't happen to all of them... only one at a time. No particular one, though. Right now, "Photoshop Graphics" is out. http://sdaviscreations.com/portfolio

As for JQuery, it's enabled. I haven't tweaked any settings or anything like that. All I've done is just a little design work and adding content. Let me know if you find anything. I have absolutely no idea what the issue could be. Thanks.

Doesn't look jQuery is being loaded at all. This is something I have been finding in a lot of my thesis installations, may be a bug...

Try adding this through the custom functions file, to the footer:

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googlea...1/jquery.min.js"></script>

I gave it a shot but still no luck.

I tried it through Openhook and by adding this to the custom functions file:

function footer_jquery(){ ?>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.1/jquery.min.js (https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.1/jquery.min.js)"></script>
<?php }
add_action('thesis_hook_footer','footer_jquery');

The good news is that all of my teaser thumbs have managed to stay put for almost a day now. I deleted all of the portfolio pages and made them again. No issues since then.

NEVERMIND!!! Looks like my email client added the part in parenthesis... not sure why that happened. I delete that part and we are good to go now.

Thanks, broseph.

Yo... looks like the teaser image/description thing is happening again. However, I think I might have an idea of what the problem is.

I'm not exactly sure how you were able to create the portfolio content feature (probably because you're a coding ninja) but it's obvious that it follows the same kind of structure that creating posts and pages do. Well, as we all know, there is an autosave feature enabled on Wordpress that can't be turned off and it saves your work after 2 minutes.

I have a habit of working in multiple tabs, saving my content and then refreshing the post/page/portfolio in another tab to see changes. I leave that edit tab open quite often. I'm now noticing that if I leave it open for a few minutes (perhaps the aforementioned 2 minutes), I lose the teaser image/description. If I save/publish my work and close the tab or just leave that page, I never lose anything.

I just figured I'd let you know that because there seems to be a direct correlation between leaving the edit page open and losing those two fields.

Hope that helps!!!

Glad some things are coming together!

I've made my meta boxes with the same coding structure for a while and never had disappearing content. Weird. With your multiple tabs, are you sure you aren't editing one page that has different content on it? Like, maybe you have one tab open where all the meta fields are filled out, and one (the old one) without them, and you end up editing the old one and overwriting your data?

No, it's just one. I know what you mean, though.

I just conducted an experiment just now, that's exactly what's happening.

I went in and edited one of the portfolio pages and saved it. Then, I left the page open. I waited until "Saving Draft..." popped up and then completed the auto save. Then, I immediately refreshed the portfolio page and the content was gone for those two fields. However, because the edit page was still open, I clicked the "Update" button because even though the content no longer shows up on the portfolio page, it's still visible in the fields because I haven't left the page yet. When I do that and refresh the portfolio page again, the content comes back. If I leave the edit page after the auto save has kicked in and wiped the content out without updating, the content in those fields is gone when I go back into the edit page.

So, I definitely think that's the deal. I can make it happen like clockwork. If you'd like for me to create a login for you, just let me know. Try running my test above and see if anything funny happens with your install on Thesis 1.8.4 and the latest download of Kolfolio. I hope it's not just mine!

I can confirm sdavis problem. Teaser image and description like to dissapear after a few minutes.

Now all Teaser images are working but i am pretty sure that if i would start to add new Teaser images, i would have same problem all over again.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Good news for me but undesirable for the masses, obviously. No huge deal since it's a free skin, though.

Autosave can be turned off but I would suggest anyone do it if they are constantly creating content on that particular blog. It can also be delayed. For now, I am just editing my work and closing the window when I'm done lol. But this article gives the information for deregistering or delaying the autosave feature. I've tested them and they work just fine.

Use at your own risk! http://www.untwisted...-it-completely/
