Hello people,
I'm planning to buy Aroxa, but I wanted to see, first, if things would work smoothly, and how the navbar would look - so for that reason, I installed Kolfolio,
Or, should I say: tried to install Kolfolio. I follwed the instructions to the letter, and also those in a more detailed page.
But it didn't work, and my site didn't show Thesis anymore, and didn't even show Wordpress anymore. Being unused to uninstalling Wordpress, I did it wrong, and ended up with yet bigger problems.
Before I try again, can someone tell me - has something changed in the procedure to install Kolfolio in Thesis?
Would appreciate any help,
thanks,
Bolke

Kolfolio is a bit old and Thesis has changed since Kolfolio was built on it. It's a free skin for that reason and should not be compared directly to Aroxis.
If I were you, interested in Aroxis, I would simply buy Aroxis as it is given the attention necessary to stay at pace with Thesis. Plus, we will definitely take care of you if you run into any issues.

Hi Sean,
I think I made it work after all - I didn't realize you had to do change things on the Portfolio page.
It does indeed look like a *very* simple skin - I'm not very knowledgeable about skins, and I don't see the improvement over Thesis as-is.
I'd like to buy Aroxis - but I realize now that the pretty navbar i see in the demo is Kolakube's, not Aroxis'. Again, I don't see much difference with Thesis - it's just grey. One can easily set that in Thesis, so I must be missing something.....
What exactly does the Aroxis skin do for one? Is it easier to customize posts and pages? Anything like that?
I don't suppose one could try out the theme? I'm just not sure what I'm getting. Kolfolio seems like just a grey version of Thesis.
(I realize this must be due to my ignorance.)
Thanks,
Bolke

Aroxis is fully responsive. Thesis is not. That's the main difference and the ultimate selling point. No matter how many columns you use or their sizes, it will adjust to the screen size of the device viewing it. Grab the right side of your browser and slim it down/expand it. You'll see the difference.
As for Kolfolio, it has built in portfolio functionality, which Thesis doesn't have. All Kolakube skins are designs, yet. But we go much further than just being pretty. It's the built in functionality that makes them great. However, if you don't actually use the functionality, they are indeed just customizations to Thesis.

Sorry to be such a bother, but are there photos to be seen, of how Aroxis can look in practice?
As I say, I see only a grey version of Thesis. I read (I can't see the Demo video on my connection, alas) that it comes with several different premade color schemes and logos - can one see these in action, somewhere?
Thanks again,
Bolke

I'm not sure what else you want to see. As stated before, the site's main feature is that it's responsive. So if you resize your browser screen, you'll see that in action.
The way the site looks is very basic. Color variations are not that complicated. Where you see blue, it can be adjusted to whatever color you want. Same with the gray colors. The texture remains the same but you can set your own colors. As seen in the following image, there are built in controls to change these things. http://www.evernote....bb71cc214ff8270
If you feel like Aroxis is simply Thesis... by all means, just use Thesis. But again, you're only looking at design... which is the easy part. The responsiveness is not a part of Thesis... at all.
