How to Install Marketers Delight 2.0

This is for version 2.0 ONLY

The installation process has been changed up a little since 2.0. If you are using any other version of Marketers Delight, please refer to this article for installation instructions.

Also note, Marketers Delight 2.0 is ONLY compatible with Thesis 1.8.2 and lower. Any higher version will not work.

Hey, This Is Really Important:

For the child theme to properly load Thesis, make sure the Thesis folder in the /themes/ directory is named just thesis

Installing Through the WordPress Admin Panel

You can install a child theme without even having to visit your FTP directory. If you are having trouble installing through the WordPress admin panel, check out how to upload the theme through FTP below.

  1. Kolakube child themes cannot work without the Thesis Theme already installed. Make sure you’ve already installed the Thesis 1.8.2.
  2. Make sure you’ve downloaded and unzipped the theme folder you received from your Kolakube download. It will be called Theme_Name.zip (ex: if you bought Marketers Delight, it will be Marketers_Delight.zip). Do not unzip anything else.
  3. Login to your WordPress admin panel at http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin and hover your mouse over the Appearance tab and click Themes.
  4. At the top of this page, there are 2 tabs. Click “Install Themes.”Install Tab
  5. Once you’re on that page, look directly below those two tabs and you’ll see a row of links. Click UploadUpload Link
  6. Now, click the Browse button and navigate into the Theme_Name folder that you unzipped in step 1. Upload the ZIP folder in there labeled themename.zip (ex: if you bought Marketers Delight, it will be marketers_delight.zip). Double-click that, and upload it into WordPress.Upload ZIP Folder
  7. Wait for WordPress to upload the folder, then click Activate on the Themes page.
  8. Now, hover your mouse over the Thesis tab in the WordPress sidebar, and click Manage Options on the flyout menu.Manage Options
  9. On the Manage Options page, in the column furthest to the right, Upload Options — upload the file in your Theme_Name folder called theme_name.dat to the All Options field at the bottom. All Thesis Options

Installing Through FTP

If for some reason the WordPress theme upload option is not working (your web host will have something to do with that), you can just as easily upload the files through your favorite FTP program. Ready? Let’s go.

  1. Kolakube child themes cannot work without the Thesis Theme already installed. Make sure you’ve already installed the Thesis 1.8.2.
  2. Make sure you’ve downloaded and unzipped the theme folder you received from your Kolakube download. It will be called Theme_Name.zip (ex: if you bought Marketers Delight, it will be Marketers_Delight.zip).
  3. Inside of Theme_Name.zip, there is another folder labeled themename_upload.zip (ex: if you bought Marketers Delight, it will be marketersdelight_upload.zip). Unzip that too.
  4. Connect to your FTP directory, and browse to the /themes/ directory in /root/wp-content/
  5. Upload the unzipped themename_upload folder into the /themes directory. Make sure you do not upload it into the Thesis folder.
  6. Login to your WordPress admin panel at http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin and hover your mouse over the Appearance tab and click Themes. Activate your Kolakube child theme.
  7. Now, hover your mouse over the Thesis tab in the WordPress sidebar, and click Manage Options on the flyout menu.
  8. On the Manage Options page, in the column furthest to the right, Upload Options — upload the file in your Theme_Name folder called theme_name.dat to the All Options field at the bottom.
